Alice's Adventures in Wonderland

The audiobook runs about two and a half hours.

Alice follows a waistcoated rabbit down a hole and spends the rest of the book being cross-examined by strangers: a hookah-smoking caterpillar on a mushroom, a cat that fades out tail first until only the grin is left, a Hatter and a March Hare for whom time has stopped at the tea hour, a Queen who plays croquet with live flamingoes and sentences the other players between strokes. There is no plot to speak of. Alice arrives somewhere, the local logic is airtight and insane, she leaves. What holds it together is her flat composure under interrogation. Carroll also stops every few pages to recite a poem, and verse one word at a time reads nothing like the prose around it.
